Dear Amir,
I trust this message finds you in good spirits. On behalf of GENIA Latinoamérica, P.B.C., I am writing to express our gratitude for our recent discussion.
I am pleased to share more detailed information on our initiatives, projects, and proposal for a strategic alliance with AI for Good and Affiliate International Organizations concerning the AI events at the upcoming Summit of the Americas.
GENIA Latinoamérica is dedicated to integrating Latin America and the Caribbean into the development of AI technologies. Our focus is on shaping digital transformation, fostering economic progress, and ensuring representative governance and equitable access to AI. We aim to advance AI technologies across the region, promoting innovation and sustainable development. Our mission is to harness AI's potential to address regional challenges, empower communities, and drive positive societal impact.
Our organization championed the LATAM 4.0 project, which consists of a multi-stakeholder coalition to develop a regional AI ecosystem. We are partnered with the Presidency of the Dominican Republic, the host of the summit, and we are a member of the Americas Business Dialogue, which coordinates the CEO Summit. We are working with the private sector and governments across the region on the LATAM 4.0 ecosystem. We have signed agreements with the Dominican Republic and Honduras, and we are actively working with 8 countries in Central America, making it the first regional AI project in our region. Our aim with the Summit is to scale this initiative to the entire hemisphere.
Our recent projects include the development of an AI-based citizen interaction system that learns from citizens to create people-centered AI public services. We have collaborated with governments and organizations to implement impactful AI applications in diverse sectors.
We propose to collaborate with the United Nations' AI for Good at both the public and private AI events during the Summit of the Americas. Our aim is to convene regional stakeholders, including the private and public sectors, civil society, and academia, around the LATAM 4.0 AI ecosystem. This collaboration seeks to advance the Regional AI Strategy in the Western Hemisphere, highlighting our region’s value in the global AI ecosystem, and promote AI's role in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in and with Latin America. This strategy will be centered around the inclusion of underrepresented populations in AI development, positioning Latin America as a key partner and emerging player in the global technology landscape.
The AI event at the Summit of the Americas, scheduled for November 2025, will bring together regional leaders and experts to discuss AI's transformative potential. The event will feature keynote speakers, panel discussions, and workshops on AI ethics, policy frameworks, and regional AI-driven technological innovation.
We seek strategic partnerships with UN agencies, organizations within the AI for Good network, and regional stakeholders to accelerate AI initiatives in the region. Together, we can leverage AI technologies to drive economic growth, enhance public services, and ensure sustainable development.
We look forward to discussing potential synergies and joint initiatives that align with our shared goals.
